Looking Up

Night-sky stills — stars, moon and constellations. All shot on a phone (plus a tripod & sometimes a pair of binoculars), often under a bit of light pollution.

Star trails — a composition of 360 different 8-second exposures (16 August 2020).
A portion of the Milky Way (24 April 2020).
A grainy long-exposure starfield from the "Fog" days.
Orion's belt, Betelgeuse, Bellatrix and the Orion nebula — with a torchlight streak in front of the trees.
From the city edge, near a lake. The sky was lit and so was my brain.
A waning gibbous moon, shot handheld.
